The spacious, modern Pizza Express restaurant on Mardol in Shrewsbury offers authentic Italian pizza, pasta, salad and desserts, as well as their famous dough balls!

We like to create great experiences as much as we enjoy making fantastic pizzas. We trace our love of a good party back to our founder – Peter was a great host. His ‘party spirit’ lives on today at Pizza Express, with a variety of fun celebrations you can enjoy.
Ever since 1965 when our founder, Peter Boizot, opened our first restaurant in Soho, the same Pizza Express values of great food, evocative music, and distinctive design have remained in our DNA.
This is one recipe we’ve never changed, and today we take the same pride in offering great hospitality and unforgettable experiences.

I love the atmosphere in this Pizza Express with the movie posters on the wall as a reminder that this used to be an Empire Cinema before it closes in 1998. As for the food, Pizza Express has really upped its game, and there are a lot more good options now. I had a Vegan Puttanesca which I really enjoyed even though it looked a little lacking in jackfruit, but it had a lovely lemony taste to it.
The service here was brilliant too as I wanted to have sun-dried tomatoes as an appetiser but they were out so they kindly made the non-vegan bruschetta vegan for me which was great. Highly recommend this Pizza Express.
