The Hive celebrates arts, culture and creativity and we are proud of our reputation as an organisation with a mission to provide a base for young people in Shropshire to explore and build on their creative skills.


We organise funded arts programmes to work with children and young people – some of whom are vulnerable or at risk. It is our vision to support young people to realise their aspirations and help develop confidence and self-esteem for those who face challenging circumstances.

In addition, the Hive is a vibrant town centre venue offering live gigs, film screenings, training, and a creative environment for people to mix and share ideas.

We are in perfect reach of excellent transport links with both the bus and train station within 15 minutes walking distance and convenient access to motorway networks.


Our CREATIVE & RELAXED ATMOSPHERE is a contrast to the standard corporate venue and can offer you the chance to do something different with your event.

As we are a REGISTERED CHARITY there is an opportunity to fulfill corporate giving responsibilities through hosting your event with us.

Our APPROACHABLE & HELPFUL STAFF will be on site throughout the hire to assist you.

With an on-site café serving hot & cold drinks and various snacks and lots of independent food suppliers nearby that we work closely with there are plenty of HIGH-QUALITY CATERING OPTIONS available to you.

All rooms are temperature controlled and have internet access. The use of all equipment is included in the hire so there are no hidden charges!

Shrewsbury Film Society

Shrewsbury Film offers a varied programme of the best current and classic films from around the world in a friendly, social atmosphere. Screening at The Hive in the heart of the town centre, our main season consists of 16 films showing on alternate Friday evenings between September and April. In response to demand, we also now provide extra screenings and special mini-seasons throughout the year. We are members of Cinema for All, the national support organization for film societies, and of the Film Hub Midlands, which generously supports some of our film shows.
